3D Anaglyph Stop Motion Video Tutorial
So David Hobby *sighhhh* (Strobist) and the guys that make PocketWizards got together and decided to throw a contest, and since my PovertyWizard has been crapping up on me lately, I decided to borrow a mic and make a tutorial out of a video I made a few months ago in the hopes of scoring one of those sweet sweet PWs. (And ofcourse, to show people how inexpensive equipment can get you some seriously cool shots!… but you already knew that =))
I’ll be honest. This was the first video I’ve pretty much EVER crapped up made. Adobe Premiere is still scarier to me than 2girls1cup. (If you don’t know what that is, trust me, you’re better off.)
Hit the the jump for links to other relevant tutorials that you’ll need to be armed with, and other stuff.
Three pretty randomly selected stills. I really wanted to make the video in an unconventional portrait form as that is how it was shot, but alas! I have no video editing skills whatsoever =( Art class deadlines don’t help much either.
Anyway, moving on.
You’ll need :
- Two cameras. They don’t have to be exactly the same cameras, but the same focal length goes a long way.
- Gaffers tape. I stole tape from the ER room. Karma bit me in the a** when i realized how gooey that stuff is. If you’ve got a lot of time on your hands, make a mount of some sort?
- Remote trigger system. Trying to trigger two cameras at once is quite a pain. PovertyWizards from ebay will get you by, but you’ll have to hunt your local dollar stores and Radio Shacks for the right adapters. (Yes, I still call them RadioShack and I don’t care if they got bought over by CC. Viva RadioShack!)
- Adobe Photoshop or Google. More about this in a minute.
